Young workers and OHS

Young Victorian workers (15 - 24 years of age) are more likely to be injured at work than any other age group. Many of these young workers are still at school and work as part of their study and/or for the wages. Schools, TAFE Institutes and community education providers are in a position to assist young people to gain knowledge of and skills in OHS before they enter the workforce and to support them when they work as part of the school curriculum or in after-school jobs.

This part of the website provides information about OHS and young workers. This includes information about injury and illness rates of young workers, the cause of their work related injuries and illnesses as well as some information about where young people tend to learn about OHS.
