Workers compensation
If workers are injured, become ill or die because of their work they are entitled to compensation. WorkSafe Victoria is responsible for Victoria's workers' compensation scheme. This scheme is called WorkCover.
The major aims of WorkCover are to:
- ensure that, if workers are injured, they are fairly compensated for that injury
- encourage the rehabilitation of injured workers and help them return to the workforce.
