Chemical spill fine sticks
A glue manufacturing company in Thomastown has been convicted and fined $90,000 after an investigation found there was no operational vapour system in place to deal with a chemical leak.
The incident happened in June 2007 when a highly flammable and corrosive chemical escaped from a tank exposing workers to the risk of dangerous chemical inhalation.
