18 yr old dragged into machine


Andrea Madeley, who lost her son in a horrific industrial accident, has been given permission to quiz witnesses during an inquest into the teenager's death.
The 18-year-old was killed when his dustcoat caught in an unguarded boring machine, dragging him into the gigantic drill and flinging him around.
The company he worked for, Diemould Tooling Services, was fined $72,000 in the Industrial Court last year after pleading guilty to a breach of workplace safety laws.
At the time Ms Madeley described the penalty as both ridiculous and a joke and called for new laws to allow for jail terms.
"We put people in jail for embezzling money. We put such a high priority on other issues," she said.
